I use IP Cameras with an opensource software ifetch-tools to collect images. The cameras work great for what I do which is essentially pull images from them. The IP Camera is the smallest size I have found that is outdoor ready. Furthermore they appear to be sufficiently constructed to last a very long time. Camera was easy to setup without software only setting your workstation to have an IP address on the same network as the camera's and typing in the correct url - ipAddress:portNumber in your browser and you are ready to setup. I do not have a large number of these out, but I intend on using this camera hence forward.
