After spending more time than I would care to admit in selecting wall sconces for my home office, I bought two of these sconces from a different provider for my home, (but bought them for a slightly discounted price ~$450). The sconce basically comes in three parts: (1) A circular plate that attaches directly to your wall. (2) A large rectangular plate screwed into the circular plate that holds the bulbs and stabilizes the third part, (3) a solid shade (which is depicted in the picture). My general feeling is that the materials are not quite as nice as one might infer from the picture. The major problem is that the rectangular plate tends to warp if you need to make any modifications when installing the circular plate to the wall (i.e, if you're not dealing with a new construction), and the solid shade itself is not perfectly manufactured. More specifically, the metal frame is slightly warped in places and the plates are not perfectly aligned. That's not to say that it looks bad. In fact, it looks rather good and fits in with modern mid-century, or asian themed rooms. You just need to be ok with paying $500 for a pair of wall sconces are are not perfectly manufactured if you buy this product.
FYI, If you're doing the install yourself, you will definitely need or need to create a recess in the wall where the circular plate goes to install it (the screws holding the rectangular plate to it fasten on the wall side of this plate), so this means you will spend a few hours fiddling with the plate to get everything to be perfect and have a messy room if you are not a pro. If you have a plaster wall, you can do this with a screw driver. You just need to not be squeamish about putting a nickel-size hole in your wall.
