This product gets five stars from me because of the combination of design, build, and and brightness. I was also considering other similar fixtures with single bulbs, but they looked a too austere for my taste.

The outer casing is made of a translucent material so the light passes through the gaps but illuminates the entire fixture as well.

My only (minor) complaint is that the ceiling base does not come in different styles, and alternatives to the half-sphere shape would be welcome.

I would recommend this product to anyone considering a similar fixture -- the style isn't for everyone, but it is much brighter than comparable fixtures.
